A Holts Summit man accused of several child sex crimes has an arraignment scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 6 at the Callaway County Courthouse.

Freeman Myron Larnerd, 53, was charged with child porn possession, unlawful use of a weapon, statutory sodomy of a victim younger than 14 years old, first-degree statutory rape, second-degree statutory, child enticement and tampering with a victim. He is being held without bond at the Callaway County Jail.

According to the probable cause statement, law enforcement received a call from a woman who stated her niece was sending nude photographs to a man and that the man – later identified as Larnerd – had shot at her children after he was confronted.

A witness who was identified as the victim’s grandfather had told law enforcement that Larnerd called him to say that he had nude images of the girl and was “madly in love” with the child. Two other witnesses went to Larnerd’s house to confront him, and both said Larnerd fired multiple shots, but missed, according to court documents.

Larnerd allegedly admitted to law enforcement that he possessed several images of the child on an old phone, the statement says. Larnerd allegedly asked his girlfriend when he bought his current phone and then went silent, the statement says. Larnerd allegedly gave consent for law enforcement to search a camper at his residence, where a phone containing child pornography was found, the statement says.

Court dpocuments say Larnerd and the victim communicated over the social media applications Snapchat and Facebook Messenger.

According to more court documents filed on Tuesday, Larnerd allegedly sexually assaulted the victim in between Oct. 1-Feb. 2 and Feb. 17-March 17.
