A Columbia man was charged on Thursday with several child pornography charges.

Robert Pund was charged with first-degree promoting child pornography and four counts of child porn possession. He is not listed on the Boone County Jail roster and a criminal summons was issued on Friday. An initial court appearance is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at the Boone County Courthouse.

According to the probable cause statement, Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted an investigation on Aug. 5 for online porn distribution and were able to download files from a device connected to the internet. Investigators found a video file containing child pornography from a device that allegedly belong to Robert Bund.

On Feb. 15, investigators executed a search warrant at Pund’s residence, where he allegedly admitted to searching, downloading and viewing child pornography on his desktop computer, the statement says.

His desktop computer was taken by authorities and brought to a Digital Forensic Center in Jefferson City, the statement says. Law enforcement found more child pornography on his computer during the analysis, the statement says.
