Man accused raping Audrain County child, domestic assault

A man who now resides in the country of Mexico was charged with rape and domestic assault on Monday in Audrain County, according to court documents.

Kevin Garcia Hernandez – who was born in 2003 – was charged in one case with two counts of first-degree rape and one count of second-degree domestic assault. In another cause, he was charged with six counts of second-degree domestic assault, one count of armed criminal action and one count of third-degree domestic assault.

A court document says the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office was called about a possible child abuse case on May 7, 2023, that allegedly occurred between November 2022-December 2022. The teenager described abuse and occurrences of sexual assault to law enforcement.

Another court document says that on Dec. 13, 2023, a victim spoke with law enforcement about domestic violence that allegedly occurred between March 2022-July 2022. The victim described at least four separate assaults to the Audrain County Sheriff’s Office.

Warrants were issued in both cases and no bond was set. Court dates have not been set.
