JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man who was accused of stabbing another man in the neck on Monday night has been charged with attempted murder.

Fredy Navichoc-Putzul, 22, was charged with first-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Cole County Jail without bond. An arraignment is set for 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Cole County Circuit Court.

Navichoc-Putzul appeared in court on Wednesday by video from the jail and the hearing was continued because he needed a Spanish interpreter, according to Casenet.

According to the probable cause statement, Navichoc-Putzul stabbed the victim in the neck multiple times and bit his hand. Cole County Sheriff’s deputies found a knife without a handle at the residence in the 6900 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

The statement says the victim and Navichoc-Putzul’s wife may have been involved in a “romantic relationship.” Navichoc-Putzul was arrested in Springfield on Tuesday.
