A woman was arrested on Saturday after she was found living in a shed that was located in the backyard of a Columbia residence.

Kimberly Campise, 45, was charged on Monday with second-degree burglary and is being held at the Boone County Jail on a $50,000 bond. An initial court appearance was set for Monday.

Columbia police arrived to the residence – whose address was redacted in court documents -- on Saturday afternoon. A woman told law enforcement that she saw power cord coming from the back of her house to the inside of her shed, which was located in her fenced in backyard, court documents say. Police also saw the cord connected to an outlet at the back of the residence. The woman asked police to search the shed, the statement says.

Police saw Campise laying down inside the unlocked shed, the probable cause statement says. Police also saw an extension cord that was connected to a phone charger and heater, along with blankets, drinks and food, the statement says.
