COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two men have charged in separate cases in different counties with sharing private sexual images without consent.

Nathan Drew Bracy, 40, of Columbia, was charged in Boone County. A warrant was ordered for his arrest on Wednesday and a $10,000 bond was set. A court date has not been set.

Christopher Brian Johnson was charged in Cole County and a criminal summons was issued on Wednesday. An initial court appearance is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at the Cole County Circuit Court. Johnson was arrested on Nov. 5 and posted a $5,000 bond on Nov. 7.

Boone County court case

According to court documents, Bracy was accused of disseminating a video with explicit images to social media on May 29, 2023. Court documents say Bracy was upset with the victim when she traveled to the Lake of the Ozarks. He allegedly threatened to post videos on social of the victim during sexual acts. Bracy allegedly posted the video to YouTube and threatened to post it on the victim’s employer’s Facebook page.

Bracy also allegedly threatened to send the video to family and friends. Police asked to see messages on the victim’s phone and saw a link to a YouTube video showing two people engaged in sexual acts. According to court documents, a screenshot showed that the headline of the video mentioned the victim’s name, and it was posted to a channel named “Nate Bracy of Kia of Columbia,” according to the probable cause statement.

Bracy then allegedly threatened – during the message exchange – to upload the video to other websites and send it to people, the statement says. The victim told police that he did not know that Bracy took the videos.

Court documents say Bracy denied posting the video.

Cole County court case

According to the probable case statement, the victim and a family member went to the AT&T Store on Wildwood Drive in Jefferson City on Nov. 4 to buy a phone and recognized Johnson from another phone purchase.

Johnson allegedly helped the victim’s family member with a phone and then asked to check the settings on the victim’s phone, the statement says. The victim told police that she and Johnson were “flirting” with each other and Johnson asked for her phone number, the statement says.

The next day, the victim was on her MacBook and was able to see a text-message thread between her and Johnson and saw several explicit images sent to Johnson. The victim realized Johnson sent the photographs from her phone to himself and then deleted the messages in the thread on her phone.

Johnson allegedly told police that he was given permission to send the images to himself, the statement says. A Jefferson City police officer asked if Johnson was given verbal consent to send the images and Johnson allegedly responded with, “Not like that… I already had her phone,” the statement says.

The officer then asked why he would delete the images in the thread and Johnson allegedly said he didn’t want another man to see them and that she probably called police because she was scared, according to the statement.
