Holts Summit man seriously injured in crash after chase with Callaway County deputy

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Holts Summit man suffered serious injuries in a crash Tuesday night during a vehicle pursuit with a Callaway County deputy, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers say, Andrew Dyson, 31, crashed his 2001 Ford Expedition on County Road 304 just west of Route F when he went off the left side of the road, hit a fence and overturned.

Dyson was taken to University Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. An MU Health Care spokesperson said he was in critical condition Wednesday afternoon.

According to the online crash report, Dyson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Callaway County interim Sheriff Darryl Maylee said a deputy had tried to stop Dyson for speeding and the chase went for about a mile.
