Belle City Hall searched by Maries County Sheriff, mayor is ‘sole person of interest’

A search warrant was executed at Belle City Hall on Wednesday and the Maries County Sheriff says Mayor Daryl White is the sole person of interest.
Maries County Sheriff Chris Heitman told ABC 17 News that his office received a report about items stolen and obtained a search warrant for financial records and other evidence. Deputies took several documents from city hall, including financial records, Heitman said.
Heitman said that law enforcement tried contacting White at his home, business and by phone, but were not unable to get ahold of him. There is no pending warrant for his arrest, Heitman said. There are two businesses listed as "active" that are registered to a Daryl White in Belle: White Motor Company Auto Glass, L.L.C. and Satellite Apartments & Trailer Park, LLC.
City Hall was closed for the day because of the search.
Heitman wrote in a Facebook post that the Missouri State Highway Patrol and City of Belle Marshal Jerry Coborn were also involved in the search investigating.
