A Jefferson City woman who pleaded guilty after allegedly shooting a woman in the leg last year was sentenced on Tuesday to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, according to an email from the Cole County prosecutor.

Victoria Crumble, 41, pleaded guilty on Sept. 29 to first-degree assault. She was previously charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to previous reporting, Jefferson City police were called to 807 Stadium Boulevard just before 1 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, following reports of someone being shot. Police found a spent .380 caliber shell casing and one live round in the parking lot.

A gunshot victim was brought to an area hospital with a wound on her leg, according to the probable cause statement.

Crumble allegedly told police that she was exposed to mace and shot the woman. She gave up the gun to police. The woman with the gunshot wound said she and Crumble got into some form of an altercation and after it stopped, Crumble shot her.

A jury trial was originally scheduled for this week. A sentencing hearing date was not released.
