Audrain County Sheriff’s Office: Man found dead with gunshot wounds in Vandalia

VANDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 23-year-old man was found dead with gunshot wounds on Thursday, along County Road 556 in Vandalia, according to a social media post from the Audrain County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office wrote online that it had received a call shortly after 2 p.m. that it had received a report that someone had been shot along County Road 556.

The post states that an investigation led to "persons of interest being identified, who have been located."

The sheriff's office posted an update that "all suspects are in custody." The names of those identified by law enforcement have not been released.

The post states that Van-Far Schools went on a "soft lockdown" due to the location of the incident, but there was no threat to the schools.
