Man arrested by Camdenton police following chase

CAMDENTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man was arrested following a chase with law enforcement on Wednesday, according to a press release from the Camdenton Police Department.

The man was not named in the release, but police say he was brought to the Camden County Jail.

Police say in the release that an officer was patrolling on North Business Route 5 at 10:50 a.m. when a vehicle sped 51 miles per hour in a 30 mph zone.

The Toyota Rav 4 sped through a red light and hit two vehicles on East Highway 54 before crashing at an overpass at Highway 5, the release states. The suspect tried to run away from the crash, but was caught.

The release states that two people were brought to an area hospital.

Charges for the man have yet to be filed.
