CPD: Two found dead in central Columbia
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Columbia Police Department stated on its social media that two people were found dead in the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue.
The department wrote on its social media that police responded at 12:15 p.m. to the house.
CPD spokesman Christian Tabak told ABC 17 News that police were originally called to the home for a welfare check.
An ABC 17 News reporter saw at least four police vehicles and police tape around a house. Officers were seen looking at the back of the house.
Woodlawn Avenue was blocked off from Worley Street to Hickman Avenue. The street was reopened by 4:30 p.m. Police left the scene at 4:45 p.m.
Columbia Fire Department online dispatch logs shows the department responded to a medical response call at 12:27 p.m. in the 500 block of Woodlawn Avenue.
ABC 17 News also reached out to the owner of the home, who declined to comment.
According to the Columbia Police Dispatch log, this marks the sixth call made to Woodlawn Avenue within the last year. Other calls consist of a 911 check, keep the peace and a disturbance call.
