Rolla man charged after allegedly trying to pay child for sex

ROLLA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Rolla man has been arrested after he allegedly attempted to solicit sex from a child.

Stephen M. Libhart II, 44, was charged on Friday with patronizing prostitution from a child 14 years old or younger and child enticement. He is being held in the Phelps County Jail without bond. A court hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Phelps County Courthouse.

According to the probable cause statement, Libhart allegedly tried to pay $300 to have to engage with sexual acts with a child and another $200 to have sex with an adult woman on Sept. 23.
