Benton County man charged after allegedly attacking another with sickle
WARSAW, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Warsaw, Missouri, man was charged on Monday after allegedly another person with a sickle on Sunday.
Todd Baker, 42, was charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action. He is being held at the Benton County Jail on a $150,000 bond. Baker appeared by video from the jail on Tuesday and a bond hearing was set for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Benton County Courthouse.
According to the probable cause statement, Baker entered a residence Sunday in Benton County in order to make the victim leave the residence. Baker allegedly presented the sickle and told the victim to get out.
Baker then started beating the victim with the sickle while they sat in a chair, according to the statement. The injuries allegedly caused “deep lacerations and gaping wounds,” that required the victim to be flown to a hospital, the statement says.
