Mexico police looking for man who shot himself in the foot
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Mexico, Missouri, police say they are having trouble finding a man who shot himself in the foot Sunday night.
According to a release from the Mexico Department of Public Safety, officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 900 block of Emmons Street and a car leaving the scene around 11 p.m. Sunday.
An investigation at the scene revealed that a 39-year-old Mexico man was in the area with a group of people when a gun he was holding went off, shooting him in the foot. The man reportedly left the scene to avoid contact with police.
According to the release, officers do not believe anyone was threatened and no other injuries were reported.
