A Saline County woman was charged Thursday in Cooper County after allegedly stealing more than $10,000 from her employer.

Patricia Michelle Frye, 44, of Sweet Springs, is charged with five counts of fraudulent use of a debit card, four of which are felonies. She is not listed on a jail roster for either Cooper or Saline counties. A court date has not been set.

On May 11, the owner of Central Missouri Glass and More – in Boonville – reported to law enforcement that Frye stole more than $10,000 in 2022 by writing checks to herself and making unauthorized debit-card purchases at the Boonville Walmart and on Amazon, according to the probable cause statement.

The owner provided law enforcement copies of checks Frye allegedly wrote to herself and bank statements with unauthorized transactions, the probable cause statement says.

The probable cause statement says she stole $10,432.65 from February 2022 through August 2022. On Aug, 10, 2022, staff discovered something “off” about a July 2022 bank statement during an audit, the statement says. It was determined that a check was initially made out to Frye.

The statement also says that Frye allegedly altered paper bank statements the company received through the mail to hide the transactions.
