Boone Health given all clear, lockdown ends
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Boone Health was placed on a lockdown Thursday evening.
A Boone Health spokesman told ABC 17 News in an email that the hospital was locked down at 5:52 p.m. after Boone County Joint Communications informed them that it received a call about someone possibly threatening the hospital.
Spokesman Ben Cornelius said in an email -- sent at 7:29 p.m. -- that they were given the "all clear" by police. Cornelius said the threat was deemed "not credible."
"We have received the all clear from the Columbia Police Department and have removed the lockdown. We are resuming normal operations," he said.
An ABC 17 News reporter saw security letting people in through the main entrance, but they have been warning everyone coming to the door about the lockdown before going in.
ABC 17 News has reached out to the Columbia Police Department.
