Five people charged after ‘weapons offense’ and arrest at Walmart
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Cole County prosecutors charged five people with weapon offenses and stealing after an apparent dustup that ended in a Walmart parking lot Sunday.
Police say the five people were in a car that had been seen driving past a man's house and threatening him with guns.
Samone K. Miles-Nero, 29 of Richmond Missouri; Joshua A. Payne, 22, Camaree N. Resonno, 20, and Kevaugh M. Bowman, 23, all of Kansas City, were all charged with accessory to first-degree harassment, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
Kykeyra C. Canady, 19 of Kansas City was charged with stealing.
According to the probable cause statement, Resonno had a previous relationship with the victim. The other four traveled from Kansas City for a funeral that weekend but had no prior affiliation with the victim.
Police say they drove to the victim's home on the 2800 block of Sue Drive under the orders of Resonno to try and intimidate him. When they arrived at the house Bowman and Payne allegedly pulled out guns and began yelling profanities at the victim. Nero was driving the car, police say.
Once they left the victim called the Jefferson City police who found their car parked outside of the Walmart at 724 W. Stadium Blvd.
Jefferson City police Lt. David Williams told ABC 17 News that officers surrounded the Walmart and arrested all five as they exited the store roughly a half-hour after they committed the assault.
Payne and Bowman were found with loaded guns that matched the description given by the victim, according to police. Payne was carrying a Glock 9mm handgun while Bowman had a Stoger 9mm handgun, according to the probable cause statement.
Canady was with the group but was arrested for stealing over $200 worth of clothing from Walmart.
According to the probable cause statement, she was caught on camera walking into the bathroom with a bag full of Walmart clothing on her shoulder and then walking out of the bathroom without the bag. She later admitted to stealing the clothes because she did not have any extra clothes after traveling from Kansas City, the statement says.
Nero, Payne, Resonno, and Bowman were being held Monday without bond. Canady was being held on a $20,000 bond.
