Couple charged with child-sex crimes
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A couple has been charged with child sex crimes in Jefferson City.
Jerad Miller, of Jefferson City, and Shellie Miller, of Columbia, are each charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy, first-degree accessory to endangering the welfare of a child, fourth-degree accessory to child molestation, accessory to the delivery of a controlled substance to a person younger than 17 years old, first-degree accessory endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs and accessory to furnishing pornographic material to a minor.
Jerad Miller is also charged with tampering with a witness in a felony prosecution, while Shellie Miller is charged with accessory to incest.
Neither accused person is in custody at last check. Warrants have been issued and no bond has been set. The probable cause statement says both of the accused were married and living together.
The alleged victim Jefferson City police the abuse began November 2020, according to the probable cause statement. The victim told police they were routinely given methamphetamine and began using daily by January 2022.
The victim, according to the probable cause statement claimed they were sexually assaulted several times from November 2020-January 2022.
Shellie Miller allegedly told police she did not know the child was using methamphetamine until they were arrested in January 2022. She also denied knowing of the abuse or participating in any sexual acts, according to the probable cause statement. Police allegedly found photographs and videos on her phone showing her “engaged in sexual acts with various subjects.”
