Man accused of leaving the scene after Scott Boulevard crash
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Police arrested a 41-year-old Columbia man Tuesday after he allegedly crashed into another vehicle, then a utility pole before leaving the scene.
Columbia Police Department officers were sent to Scott Boulevard and Chapel Hill Road in southwest Columbia at about 8 p.m. for a crash, a CPD spokesman said in a news release. Witnesses said a driver hit another vehicle and the pole and drove away, according to police.
Officers later arrested Eric S. McCauley on suspicion of careless driving, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of a crash and not complying with his ignition interlock device requirements, the spokesman said.
Other details were not immediately available. Charges had not been filed Wednesday morning.
McCauley was booked into the Boone County Jail and then released on bond.
