Police: Evidence of shots fired found in southwest Columbia

KMIZ

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Officers found a home damaged by gunfire early Saturday after a call to the Cherry Hill area of southeast Columbia.

The call led to the closing of Scott Boulevard from Chapel Hill Road to Bethany Street near Jay Dix Station, according to public alerts sent out that morning by emergency dispatchers. The first alert was sent at about 1:15 a.m., with a second alert saying the road had reopened sent about two hours later.

Police were sent to the 2200 block of Cornona Road and found the damage to the home, a Columbia Police Department spokesman said. Police had no other information to release.

No injuries were reported.
