Man charged after Callaway County meth bust

CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Steedman man faces drug charges following a methamphetamine bust Tuesday morning in Callaway County.

According to the Callaway County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested Leon R. Drake Jr. after a search in the 1500 block of Old Highway 40 around 5:50 a.m.

Deputies said they recovered about 1.3 ounces of meth and other drug-related items.

The Callaway County Prosecutor's Office charged Drake with felony drug trafficking and a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Drake doesn't yet have a lawyer, according to public court records. He remained in the Callaway County Jail on Wednesday on a $25,000 bond, according to the sheriff's office website.
