COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A fire that damaged every unit at a Mexico, Missouri, storage center was started by "a person or people," Mexico police said Monday.

The fire early last Tuesday in the 500 block of South Clark Street led to each unit in the storage center getting some sort of damage, police said. Police and the state fire marshal pinpointed the unit where the fire started and said it was "started by a person or people," according to a Mexico Public Safety Department news release.

Police did not say whether they think the fire was started intentionally.

Investigators are preparing a case to submit to prosecutors for criminal charges, the release says.
