A Mexico, Missouri, man who was in a vehicle that led officers on a high speed chase before crashing into several other vehicles pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to multiple charges.

Myron Mahaney, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of possessing methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and one count of being a felon in possession of firearms.

Myron Mahaney and Malik Miller were reportedly in a Nissan Rogue on March 14 on Highway 54 in Callaway County when a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper clocked the Rogue's speed at a 95 miles per hour, according to a probable cause statement. The speed limit was 70 miles per hour.

A trooper claimed he attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver continued to drive off and allegedly reached 107 miles per hour.

The vehicle ended up crashing at the Dix Road exit and crashed into multiple vehicles. Both men were arrested.

Mahaney ran away from the vehicle, but was taken into custody by Jefferson City police officers. Mahaney was carrying a bag that contained roughly 219 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a loaded 9mm handgun and a loaded .45-caliber handgun. He had $2,086 in cash in his front pocket.

It is illegal for anyone who has been convicted of a felony to be in possession of any firearm or ammunition.

Mahaney has a prior felony conviction for unlawful use of a weapon.

Mahaney is subject to a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison without parole, up to a sentence of 50 years in federal prison without parole.

Miller had pleaded guilty earlier this year to drug trafficking, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest. He was sentenced to seven years in prison.
