A Portland, Missouri, man was charged Monday with several felony counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, first-degree property damage and unlawful use of a weapon.

Callaway County police seized 18 firearms from Wally Spencer, 46, following an incident Sunday at Rivers Edge RV Park & Compound in Portland. Spencer was convicted of a DUI in 1999 and is prohibited from owning a firearm, according to a probable cause statement.

Spencer allegedly shot out the radiators of two vehicles containing passengers with a shotgun.

According to Casenet, Spencer faces:

  • Two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, discharged into a home, motor vehicle or other transportation.
  • Two counts of first-degree property damage.
  • Three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm.

A hearing was held Tuesday morning. Spencer appeared via video from the Callaway County jail. A bond appearance hearing is scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday.

Spencer was previously charged with four counts of fourth-degree assault, two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, aggravated driving while intoxicated and unlawful use of a weapon stemming from a December 2020 incident in Portland.

A subpoena for that case was served Aug. 8 and a motion for continuance was filed Monday on Spencer's behalf.
