COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mexico, Missouri police say two men broke into the Audrain Community Hospital early Wednesday.

Police were sent to the hospital at about 2 a.m. Wednesday for an alarm, according to a Mexico Department of Public Safety news release. Security video showed two men involved in breaking into the building and stealing "a small amount of property," police say.

Investigators interrogated the men and warrants for their arrest were pending Thursday, the release says.

Police say there's no evidence that the personal information of hospital patients was stolen. The hospital has been closed since the spring, when former owner Noble Health shuttered it and laid off scores of workers. The hospital was later bought by Platinum Management but has not reopened.
