Pulaski County deputies on Tuesday arrested a man wanted for a Camden County carjacking.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested Stephen Wachholtz without incident in the 18000 block of Cliff Road on Camden County warrants for carjacking and assault. The Camden County Sheriff's Office said the area was near Dixon. He was in the Pulaski County Jail on Tuesday.

The Camden County Sheriff's Office said last week that Wachholtz assaulted the woman and took her car Thursday in the Richland area.

Wachholtz allegedly slammed the woman's head into the steering wheel of her car while she was giving him a ride, according to a news release. He was angered because the woman said she was driving home after her car had mechanical problems, the sheriff's office said.

The woman tried to get away with her keys but Wachholtz grabbed her, bit her and took the keys from her, deputies say. He then pushed her out of the vehicle and took off, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies found the vehicle Sunday.

Wachholtz will be transferred soon to the Camden County Jail, the sheriff's office there said.
