COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Camden County deputies are asking for help finding a Camdenton man who they suspect hit another man with a vehicle Tuesday night, killing him.

The sheriff's office said the suspect in Michael Varney's death at a home north of Camdenton is Jordan F. Jones, 32. Jones is accused of hitting Varney with his vehicle at Varney's home after an argument. Witnesses say Jones left the scene after driving into Varney on Varney's front porch, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Deputies say Jones is known to visit the Camdenton, Macks Creek and Lebanon areas "and has ties throughout the lake area." He might be driving a late-'90s green or teal extended cab Chevrolet truck, according to the news release. The truck might have front-end damage, the sheriff's office said.

Jones also has an active probation and parole arrest warrant.

The Camden County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about Jones to call the office.
