Two people charged for drug trafficking after a traffic stop in Cole County

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Two people were arrested in Cole County on Tuesday morning after a traffic stop lead to the discovery of drugs.

The Cole County prosecutor has charged Erica Edwards and Melvin Daniels with second-degree drug trafficking. Edwards is also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
Officers say they pulled over Edwards for crossing the center line on the road.

After searching the car, they found nearly 16 ounces of meth.
Court documents also say the officer found around 3 grams of cocaine on Edwards.
According to online court records, Daniels has Jeffrey Hilbrenner listed as his defense attorney. Edwards does not have a defense attorney listed.
Both of them are being held without bond at the Cole County Jail.
Edwards and Daniels were arraigned on Wednesday afternoon.
