Court date set for daycare bomb threat suspect
BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Editor's note: this report has been updated to reflect the correct court date.
The man accused of calling in a bomb threat to a Columbia daycare is now in custody in Boone County and expected to appear in court.
Alexzander Green was moved to Boone County Saturday. Online police records show Green is being held without bond. A court date has been set for Tuesday, May 31. Green is charged with making terrorist threats, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
Green was arrested in Atchison, Kansas, last week without incident, according to Boone County Sheriff.
Green was identified as a suspect in a May 17 bomb threat made at the daycare center on the 2400 block of West Ash Street. Police records match up with the KinderCare bomb threat on the same day, although records don't explicitly mention the name of the daycare.
On the day of the bomb threat, children and staff were evacuated to a nearby building, and parents were made aware of the situation.
Mid-Missouri Bomb Squad and bomb-sniffing dogs from the University of Missouri Police Department and the Capitol Police in Jefferson City were called in to investigate the threat. After a thorough investigation, the building was declared safe.
Green has been prosecuted for other felonies in the past, including in connection with the shooting death of a family member.
