Police: FedEx worker upset at boss fired rounds near Columbia apartment complex
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man was charged with three felonies Friday after shots were fired outside a Columbia apartment complex.
Darrion M. Hill, 22, is accused in a shots-fired incident Thursday oustide of The Domain apartment complex at Stadium Boulevard and Highway 63. Police arrested him Thursday and prosecutors charged him Friday with unlawful use of a weapon, first-degree harassment and armed criminal action.
Police received five calls at about 5:45 p.m. that shots had been fired at the apartment complex.
A witness told police that Hill shot an AR-15-style rifle into the air at a Breaktime gas station near the apartment complex, where Hill knew some of the residents. Employees at FedEx told police that Hill had been in an argument with a supervisor earlier in the day and was angry about it, according to the statement. The manager told police that Hill threatened to shoot him, the statement says.
Police say Hill admitted under interrogation to firing into the air in The Domain parking lot. He was arrested without incident, police say.
A person who was with Hill told police that he stopped his vehicle and fired shots near the gas station and stopped again at The Domain parking lot and fired more shots.
He was in the Boone County Jail on Friday without bond. No lawyer was listed for Hill in online court records.
