JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A federal grand jury indicted two people Tuesday in connection with a February shooting in Jefferson City.

The grand jury indicted Powell Yaeger and Alisha Selvey for unlawful possession of a gun.

In addition to the federal indictment, Yaeger also faces state charges. Cole County prosecutors charged him with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Authorities arrested the pair in Hartsburg after a 25-year-old man was shot on Feb. 3. Jefferson City police responded to the 600 block of Boonville Road and discovered the shooting victim was at the Break Time Store on W. Main Street. The victim went to the hospital, but was not cooperating with investigators at the time.

Yaeger has an arraignment on the state charges scheduled for May 25.
