MEXICO, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police officers have arrested a Mexico, Missouri man accused of breaking into a hospital.

Geoffrey D. Allen, 55, is accused of causing damage and stealing items from Audrain Community Hospital, according to the Mexico Public Safety Department. Police said video evidence and information from witnesses helped identify Allen as the suspect.

Officers arrested Allen at about 3:55 p.m. Wednesday. Police said he was booked and released pending charges by the Audrain County Prosecutor's Office.

There is no evidence Allen stole personal information or medical records from the hospital, according to MPSD.

Hospital operator Noble Health suspended operations at the hospital and at Callaway Community Hospital in Fulton on March 25.

Last week, Noble Health, furloughed 175 employees. The furloughs include employees at Callaway Community Hospital.
