A Columbia man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter for a killing on Doris Drive in 2020 received 4 years in prison.

A judge sentenced Justin Shelton for his role in the death of 17-year-old Joseph Taylor.

Shelton said he brought the teenager to a home on Doris Drive to purchase marijuana.

A resident at the home told police the suspects broke into a bedroom.

The resident also said Taylor set down a gun inside the room, which the resident used to fatally shoot the teen.
