AUDRAIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Audrain County deputies arrested a man after a multi-county chase early Friday morning.

According to a news release, it started just before 4 a.m. after a deputy saw Willy Sitton driving a vehicle in Vandalia. The deputy knew Sitton had active felony warrants out of Pike County and other warrants for parole violations.

Authorities said Sitton was wanted for violating his parole after he was previously convicted of first-degree manslaughter and armed criminal action.

The deputy tried to stop Sitton, but he drove away. The chase went into Pike County and Sitton eventually abandoned his vehicle and ran away near Curryville. Deputies eventually arrested Sitton and took him to the Audrain County Jail. Authorities said new charges will be sought against Sitton in connection with the chase.
