Man in critical condition after pedestrian crash at Columbia Sam’s Club

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMI)

University of Missouri Hospital officials say a man is in critical condition Friday morning after receiving life-threatening injuries from a crash outside of the Columbia Sam's Club the day before.

Boone County prosecutors charged 32-year-old Patrick Giberson with a count each of second-degree assault and driving while intoxicated linked to the incident.

Columbia police said in a release Giberson was driving an SUV outside of the store Thursday morning and hit Shawn Taylor as he was standing next to his own vehicle.

As of Friday, Giberson was being held in Boone County Jail custody on a $25,000 bond.
