COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A wreck Thursday morning at Sam's Club sends one person to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to Columbia police, Patrick Giberson was driving a Mitsubishi Montero south in the driving lane in front of Lowe’s when it hit the concrete median divider separating a driveway on the south side of Lowe’s and a driveway on the north side of Sam’s Club.

The Montero then hit a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan that was parked in the Sam’s Club loading area.

The wreck caused the Grand Caravan to hit Shawn Taylor who was standing next to his vehicle.

Police took Giberson into custody at the scene. Giberson is charged with 2nd-degree assault and DWI causing serious injury.

Taylor was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
