FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

A former corrections officer was arrested on Oct. 28 accused of attempting to smuggle drugs into the Fulton Reception and Diagnostic Center.

Randi Duvall, 35, of Auxvasse is charged with a felonycount of acceding to corruption by a public servant.

Officials say the investigation is ongoing but court documents reveal the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri Department of Corrections, and the United States Postal Inspection Service all assisted with the investigation.

The investigation began on Oct. 21 after a department of corrections intelligence analyst alerted the sheriff's department to a suspected unknown substance being sent through the mail to Duvall.

According to court documents, Duvall got the package and two days later a special agent contacted Duvall about the substance.

Court documents state that Duval admitted to trying to smuggle a liquid, suspected of being liquid cannabinoids, into the facility. Duvall also admitted to smuggling into the facility smokeless tobacco, smoking tobacco and other tobacco products.

Duvall also admitted to getting paid between $800 and $1,000 for smuggling the tobacco products inside the facility according to court documents.

Duvall's next court date is Friday morning at the Callaway County courthouse.
