Columbia man in custody for 2018 domestic incident

UPDATE: Pannell was sentenced to 120 shock incarceration and five years of probation with a suspended execution of sentence, according to court records.

ORIGINAL: According to online records, Damarko Pannell is in custody after a domestic situation in July 2018.

According to court documents, Pannell is charged with domestic assault, kidnapping, stalking, tampering with a motor vehilce, unlawful use of a weapon and failure to appear for domestic assault. Pannell is currently being held without bond.

According to a Boone County probable cause statement, Pannell showed up to the victim's residence and assaulted the victim in the back of the head three to four time with a gun on July 21, 2018. The victim told police that Pannell then drug the victim throughout the residence and then assaulted the victim in the face with his hand.

On July 22, 2018, the victim tried to get away while Pannell was asleep but took the keys to the vehicle.

Over the next couple of days, Pannell would not let the victim leave the residence or drive the victim's own car.

On July 26, 2018, the victim called the police according to court documents.
