Jefferson City man sentenced to probation in robbery case
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Jefferson City man accused in an armed robbery pleaded guilty to a reduced charge this week and was sentenced to probation.
Andrew Dixson pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery and was given five years of probation with a 10-year prison sentence if he violates the terms. He was originally charged with first-degree robbery in December 2018.
Dixson was one of four men accused in the robbery of a pedestrian on Elm Street. Police said Dixson and the other men were in a car. They allegedly pulled up to the man as he was on the sidewalk and hit him with a car door before robbing him at gunpoint.
Dixson denied involvement under questioning by police.
