COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a 22-year-old man after a teenager on a bike reported someone firing shots at him near a Columbia park Thursday.

The Columbia Police Department did not name the suspect in a release about the incident and other shots-fired calls. The arrest came after a man flagged down an officer near the 1800 block of McKee Street, police said.

The man told police his 16-year-old son was riding his bike near McKee Street Park when a man shot at him twice, according to a CPD news release. The boy was not hit.

Officers located several shell casings in the area but no property was damaged, according to the release.

Police say they were sent to three separate shots-fired calls between Thursday night and Friday morning, including calls on Volunteer Lane and Arlene Drive.

Officers were also sent to a shooting on Bodie Drive early Friday. A 19-year-old woman was shot but her injuries were not life-threatening.
