Man accused of erratic driving, knife threat in Fulton
FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)
Fulton police arrested a Callaway County man on accusations of dangerous driving and threatening another driver with a knife Thursday.
Police received reports a little after 8:30 p.m. Thursday of a truck in the 900 block of Jefferson Street driving too fast and erratically and chasing another vehicle, according to a Fulton Police Department news release.
Officers found the suspect, Richard A. Smith, 67, of Steedman, in an argument with several people, police said. Investigators determined Smith had chased another vehicle, swerved his vehicle toward a pedestrian and threatened a person with a knife, according to the release.
Police say they found drugs and drug paraphernalia on Smith.
Smith was arrested on suspicion of fourth-degree assault, fourth-degree domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, driving while intoxicated, drug possession, drug paraphernalia and careless driving.
Smith was booked in the Callaway County Jail with no bond. Information about charges was not available Friday morning in online court records.
