CALIFORNIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Clarksburg man was put on probation after he pleaded guilty Friday to driving while intoxicated that caused the death of a California man.

Logan Rowles, 24, was charged with 20-year-old Dylan Kramel's death in October after the incident happened on Aug. 6.

According to online court records, Rowles was sentenced to five years of supervised probation. He will serve a seven-year prison sentence if he violates probation.

State troopers arrested Rowles after he was suspected of driving a Bobcat skid steer with Kramel riding in the bucket during Kramel's death.

The highway patrol's report said the skid steer hit a pothole and Kramel was thrown from the construction equipment. Troopers said the skid steer then hit Kramel.

Court records say Roger Kramel and others filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Rowles on April 2. Rowles Roofing and Construction Company was also named in the lawsuit, according to court records.

It wasn't clear how Roger Kramel is related to Dylan Kramel.
