Another person has been arrested in connection with a January shooting that happened on Business Loop 70.

Courtney A. Brown Jr., 17, of Columbia, faces felony charges for first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Columbia police said he was arrested at 4:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Rangeline Street on Tuesday.

Court documents say Brown was in the car with at least three others on Jan. 26 when a car was shot in the roundabout at I-70 Drive S.W.

Brown's probable cause statement said he received a Snapchat message four days after the shooting telling him to "stay off social media and to be safe." The documents say Brown asked for a ride to St. Louis over Snapchat on Jan. 31 and included he needed to get there "ASAP."

Police say GPS data put Brown in Memphis on Feb. 1. His probable cause statement said he sent a message over Snapchat on Feb. 11 saying he was "on the run."

Officers said evidence obtained during the investigation suggested Brown also sold illegal drugs and has had guns in his possession.

Brown was in the Boone County Jail on Wednesday on a $200,000 bond.

At least four people have been charged with the shooting. Demarkus Cain Jr. was charged last week with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon for the shooting. Christopher Carter and Michael Whitley also face charges in the case.
