COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to lesser charges after he was accused of first-degree bank robbery in 2018.

Online court records show Randall Shaw pleaded guilty to stealing from a financial institution and resisting arrest for a felony. The same records show Shaw's sentence is scheduled to be handed down on March 30.

Police say Shaw along with Richard Welty robbed a Central Bank of Boone County location on Paris Road in August of 2018.

Court documents say Shaw gave a bank teller a note demanding $5,000. The documents show he pulled up his shirt and revealed a police-style flashlight in his waistband.

Officers recognized Shaw from surveillance camera footage. Police said the pair got away in Welty's car, which was parked at a nearby parking lot.
