MUPD investigates early morning robbery on campus

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

University of Missouri police say a person was robbed at knifepoint in front of Memorial Union on campus early Friday.

The victim told police the robbery happened at about 1:30 a.m. and described the robbers as two men in their 20s, according to a campus crime alert from the University of Missouri Police Department. One of the robbers punched the victim and took the victim's cellphone, police said.

The victim chased the robbers toward College Avenue and got the phone back after a robber threw it down, police said. The robbers told the victim they had guns but the victim only saw a knife, police say.

Police did not report any injuries.
