BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County prosecutors charged a man for leading sheriff's deputies on a chase that exceeded speeds of 135 mph.

Robert Aulidge, 32, was arrested in northern Boone County Wednesday following a chase that lasted 22 miles. Boone County sheriff's deputies said authorities tried to pull over Aulidge for multiple traffic violations.

Court documents say Aulidge performed a U-turn in the middle of Highway 763. The documents show he drove away from police on a motorcycle going north on the highway. Deputies said Aulidge nearly crashed into patrol cars and drove into oncoming traffic.

Aulidge parked his motorcycle behind a home on Schunemeyer Road and ran inside documents said. Deputies said the homeowners let authorities inside and that Aulidge was arrested in the basement.

He faces several charges including resisting arrest and driving while suspended. Deputies said Aulidge's license was suspended for a prior conviction. Court documents say the motorcycle Aulidge was driving didn't belong to him.
