THURSDAY UPDATE: Boone County reports eight new COVID cases; 10 patients in area hospitals
The Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting eight new coronavirus cases were added to the information hub on Thursday. The county delays reporting cases by two days.
The dashboard is showing 10 COVID-19 patients in Boone County hospitals. Of the 10 patients, one patient is in the ICU.
The county has reported 42,886 since the pandemic began. The county has reported 14,007 cases since 2022 started.
Boone County is reported to have a low COVID-19 community level, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) last Friday.
During Wednesday’s update, the health department that 11 new deaths were identified through the reconciliation process.
Officials with the department indicated that six men and five women died due to the coronavirus. That six of the residents had died in January of this year and five died in February.
The age range of the individuals are:
- 1 in 40-44 age group
- 1 in 50-54 age group
- 1 in 60-64 age group
- 1 in 70-74 age group
- 1 in 75-79 age group
- 6 in 80+ age group
Cole County reports no new coronavirus cases for the second time since March 29
The Cole County Health Department reported no new coronavirus cases on Thursday. This is the second time the county reported no new COVID cases since March 29.
According to the dashboard update, there are 17,033 residential cases and 331 long-term care facility resident cases. That is 17,364 total cases in the county since March 2020.
The county has reported 200 coronavirus deaths since the pandemic began.
The Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard reports Cole County as having a low COVID-19 community level.
The Jefferson City School District reported no new coronavirus case in a student or in a staff member on Tuesday.
The district is reporting one active case in a student and no active case in a staff member.
