COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Multiple vaccination clinics are back open Thursday after postponing events due to winter weather.

MU Health Care had its shipment of 4,000 Moderna vaccines delayed due to winter weather. The clinic was originally set to take place Feb. 19 and 21 but has since been moved to Thursday and Saturday.

“Those who had appointments postponed last week are being contacted with new appointment information for this Thursday or Saturday” said Brad Myers, MU Health Care Director of Pharmacy and Laboratory Services. “If you had an appointment scheduled for Feb. 19 or 21, please check your email for an update or call our COVID-19 vaccine call center hotline at 573-771-CARE (2273).”

MU Health Care has an online survey available to fill out in order to be notified about vaccine availability and eligibility.

The event will take place at the Walsworth Family Columns Club at Faurot Field. Officials said the venue allows for appropriate spacing.

Thursday and Saturday's event is by appointment only. Walk-ins will not be accepted.

Audrain County is also set to host a second-dose clinic in Mexico.

That event is scheduled to take place at the Mexico Area Family YMCA from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thursday. Participants are asked to enter Adams Street using Morris Street from Boulevard or Lakeview streets.

The event is for only those who received their first dose at the Mexico Memorial Airport on Jan. 29. They will be asked for the CDC card given to them at the first event.

The Audrain County Health Department is doing appointment times by last name and ask residents not to show up early in order to avoid any traffic congestion.

Here is the chart for the times and first letters of last names residents should follow:

  • 8:00 a.m. arrival – Those with last names beginning with A
  • 8:30 a.m. arrival – Those with the last names beginning with B
  • 9:00 a.m. arrival – Those with the last names beginning with C
