FRIDAY UPDATES: Governor Parson: Regional mass vaccination events will be held next week

Governor Parson sent out a news release state that next week's mass vaccination events will continue as planned.

“DHSS, the Missouri National Guard, SEMA, and local partners remain dedicated to our shared goal of getting vaccines into the arms of every Missourian who wants one as quickly as possible,” Governor Parson said. “We thank Missourians for their continued interest in being vaccinated and our state and local teams for their hard work and adaptability in conducting these events.”

Extreme winter weather has caused continued delays in vaccine shipments from the federal government, but the state continues working with local partners to schedule mass vaccination events as supplies from the federal government are available.

So far there is an event pending in Region A in Pettis County with dates and times pending at the State Fairgrounds.

In Region B, Randolph County is hosting an event at Riley Pavilion at Rothwell Park in Moberly with a date and time pending.

In Region F, dates and times are pending for Audrain and Cole County events. In Cole County, there is no site location currently. In Audrain County, the event will be held at Mexico Memorial at 11918 US 54 in Mexico.

The last event in Mid-Missouri is in Morgan County for Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until supply lasts) at First Asssembly of God Church at 501 W. Hicks St. in Versailles.

The website will be updated as event details are confirmed. Missourians should check the site regularly for event information and registration details. Missourians already registered for an event are also encouraged to check the website regularly for any cancellations or other changes.

Audrain County reports one new COVID-19 death

Audrain County Health Department is reporting the 53rd COVID-19 related death since the county first reported a death in June 2020.

This is the third coronavirus related death this month and 17th death this year.

The health department reports 12 active cases and a total of 1,677 cases since the pandemic started.

There is currently one resident hospitalized from the coronavirus.

The State of Missouri COVID-19 Vaccine dashboard is reporting 13% of the population in the county has received their first dose of the vaccine.

Boone Courthouse and Callaway Court move to phase 2

Beginning Monday morning, the Boone Courthouse and Callaway Court are moving to Supreme Court Operating Directive Phase 2.

The court now requires face masks or coverings to be required in all public court areas and during all court proceedings unless good cause is shown to limit the requirement in particular proceedings.

The court has face shields available for witnesses and parties if needed. There are masks available for anyone who needs them.

The court will continue utilizing available technology to limit in-person courtroom appearances to the extent practicable.

The circuit had been in Phase 1 since October 25.

Cole and three other counties report zero new cases

Cole, Randolph, Moniteau and Chariton Counties all reported zero new cases Friday.

In Cole County, the health department does not list active cases just the number of cases and deaths in the county.

In Randolph County, there are four active cases and one person hospitalized.

In Moniteau County, there are currently nine active cases.

In Chariton County, there are 12 active cases.

Other counties that have single-digit active cases are Maries (7 active) and Howard (8 active).

Boone County positivity rate continues downward trend

Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services is reporting 36 new COVID-19 cases.

The health department is currently reporting 199 active cases, an increase of 12 from Thursday.

The dashboard is reporting the positivity rate of 16.3% positivity rate for Feb. 5 through Feb. 11. The latest positivity rate is reported as 14.4 for the week of Feb. 12 through last Thursday.

The county continues to trend down as there has now been 23 straight days of only double-digit case increases. This is the longest number of days of only double-digit increases since Oct. 13.

The county now has a reported total number of COVID-19 cases of 17,275.

The county has reported the total number of cases removed from isolation is 17,001, an increase of 24 from Thursday.

Columbia/Boone County Department of Public Health and Human Services dashboard has reported the latest five-day average as 28, an increase of five from Thursday.

The health department is reporting the total number of hospitalizations in Boone County is 35.

The number of Boone County residents hospitalized is reported to be 7, a decrease of three from Thursday.

The dashboard is reporting 11 COVID-19 patients in the ICU and 7 patients on ventilators.

The hospital status is currently in 'Green' status. 'Green' status is when hospitals are operating within licensed bed capacity; accepting patient transfers from referring hospitals within standard care operating procedures.

The State of Missouri coronavirus vaccine dashboard is reporting that 24,458 have received their first dose in Boone County.

The county has the fourth-largest percentage of people that have received at least one dose of the vaccine with 13.6%.

Saline County has the largest with 16.8% of the population have received the first dose of the vaccine. Montgomery County is second with 15% and Cole County is third with 14.3%.

Randolph County to hold coronavirus vaccination clinic Wednesday

The Randolph County Health Department says it plans to host a coronavirus mass vaccination clinic next week.

The department said it expects a shipment of doses to arrive Tuesday. The clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Rothwell Park in Moberly.

This clinic is for second doses and is only open to those who attended the first mass vaccination clinic on Jan. 29. The health department asks people who attend to bring their vaccine cards from their first appointment with them and to arrive at about the time as they did for that first appointment.

The department set March 2 as a backup date in case vaccine doses don't arrive.

About 3,000 first doses have been administered in Randolph County, representing about 9.7% of county residents. The county's rate is the second-lowest among Mid-Missouri counties to Miller County's 7.9%, according to the state's coronavirus dashboard.

Missouri coronavirus vaccinations double COVID-19 confirmed cases

As of Friday morning, Missouri health officials have vaccinated more than double the number of people who have had a confirmed case of COVID-19.

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services coronavirus dashboard said 966,807 vaccine doses have been administered in the state. It's an increase of 26,997 from the number reported Thursday.

According to the dashboard, the health department has confirmed 474,021 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic started.

Recently, the health department has been reporting fewer new coronavirus cases on the dashboard. The state's daily average new caseload was reported at 504 on Friday, down from 4,866 during the pandemic's peak on Nov. 12.

As daily case increases have diminished, health departments and hospitals have continued to vaccinate residents. The average daily vaccination number provided by the health department was reported at 21,891 on Friday. The department included that 153,238 vaccine doses were given out over the week ending on Tuesday.

The dashboard included that 680,951 people have received an initial vaccine dose -- 11.1% of the state's population. Health officials said 4.7% of state residents have received two doses.

Many vaccination clinics around the state had to close because of dangerously cold weather this week. MU Health Care announced Thursday that vaccine clinics for people receiving dose No. 1 were delayed, however, residents receiving a second dose could still get vaccinated.

The health department reported 14 new virus-related deaths bringing the pandemic total up to 7,709.

Missouri's seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate was reported at 7%. The health department revised Thursday's positivity rate lower -- 6.7%. Based on dashboard data, the rate has risen slightly over the last two days.

State hospital officials said in the latest data available that 1,254 people were hospitalized and 287 others were in ICU beds because of the pandemic.
